Wow!! What a turn out for the April 6th Department of Labor presentation, “CAREERS OF THE FUTURE: What Students Need to Know about the Job Market”! While we planned for 20 students, 47 students signed in. Some teachers and staff members also attended.
The presenter, Ms. Karen Knapik-Scalzo from the US Department of Labor, provided everyone with critical information about CNY’s economy and employment prospects. And surprisingly, the news was not all bad! For example, even though CNY’s economy is slowing down, there are still employment opportunities out there in the areas of computer technology, customer service, accounting and many entry-level positions.
