Build Ready Construction Training Program

The Construction Trades Training Program will provide 140 hours of and hands-on training to prepare students for various construction/apprenticeship positions.  Training includes construction math, blue print reading, introduction to power tools and hand tools students will work at various construction sites throughout the city of Syracuse to gain actual hands-on training, OSHA 10 for construction. Students will also participate in soft skills training, resume writing workshops and mock interviews before they complete the program.

 

Individuals will be asked to complete a SUNY EOC application.  Once individuals have completed the application, they will be given a TABE test (Test of Adult Basic Education) to assess their reading and math ability.  Individuals should score at an eighth-grade reading and math level to ensure they can comprehend the material that is presented during class.  In addition to the testing, individuals will be given a pre-screening interview and will participate in a hands-on construction assessment to determine their current construction knowledge.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

-       Applicant must be 17 years or older to apply

-       All prospective students are required to provide photo ID with a New York State address

-       Income Documentation

-       Submit TABE, BEST + or Class E testing results taking within the last year

Complete pre-screening interview and a hands-on construction assessment
