Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)

The Certified Nurse Aide Program is a 10-week intensive training program which includes eight weeks of classroom instruction and two weeks of clinical training at a local healthcare facility.  This program is designed to prepare individuals for the New York State certification exam and for an entry-level position within a healthcare facility as a New York State Licensed Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA).

 

Academic Eligibility Requirements:

Minimum 8.0 reading score on TABE placement exam (minimum 6.6 reading score for

ESL students)

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Up-to-date Physical examination and immunization record

Two personal references

Selection interview with program coordinator, counselor and instructor

 

Program Completion Requirements:

-        Completion of CNA course with a grade of “C” or higher

-        Approved, on-file resume and cover letter
